Saskatchewan Immigration Saskatchewan has an extensive PNP program with several streams. In addition to streams for Skilled Workers and Entrepreneurs, Saskatchewan has programs for Health Care Professionals, Farmers, Students, Family Members of Saskatchewan residents, and a special stream for Long-Haul Truck Drivers. Program Details The candidate requires a guaranteed job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. There is no pre-approval process. Both the candidate and the employer jointly submit the requisite application forms. There is no specific shortage jobs list. The onus is always on the employer to demonstrate sufficient efforts to hire local Canadians and to offer competitive terms and conditions of employment. Applicants in the Skilled Worker stream must be carrying out a position that is classified under the National Occupations Classification guide as a skill level A or B. There is a different application process for workers already working in Saskatchewan under a work permit. Skilled workers do not require a Work Permit or LMO before applying for PNP. Once issued, the PNP Certificate can serve in place of the LMO to receive a work permit. Long-Haul Truck Drivers, however, DO require a positive LMO and a Work Permit to qualify for PNP. As well, under this program, employers must first apply for pre-approval to participate. Once approval is granted, the candidate can then apply. Candidates applying under the Skilled Worker or Truck Driver stream and who are issued a work permit must first work for 6 months in the province before being eligible to apply for PNP. The Business stream requires proof of management experience, a $75,000 deposit, and $250,000 of net worth, an exploratory visit, and a suitable business proposal to be considered. The Numbers Processing time targets for applications in all streams are in the range of approximately 14 weeks. There are no fees charged.
